Winter Sports Run 11/02 – 11/06

Attention: All athletes planning on trying out for a winter sport, you must have an athletic packet turned in to Mr. Ruben and issued a GO Pass before you will be allowed to participate. You can pick up an athletic packet in the front office. Winter sports tryouts and practices have started!
Varsity Football Run 11/02 – 11/06

The Cats play their final regular season game at home TOMORROW against the Queen Creek Bulldogs.
The game has been selected as the AIA Game of the Week that is scheduled to be broadcast “live” on The Fan AM-1060 as well as streamed on the AIA website, www.AIA365.com Please tell friends and family about the broadcast so that they can listen & watch if they are unable to attend.

Keenan Steele, Travis Steinheiser and Davis Finney captured the three individual state qualifying positions this week at the Desert Sky Regional golf championship held at McCormick Ranch Golf Club.

Boys Soccer Run 11/02 – 11/06

Boys Soccer practice and tryouts will be held at 3:15PM ALL WEEK on the Football Practice Field which is located right next to the North Parking Lot in between the Softball and Freshman baseball fields. Please bring your Go Pass to practice. You cannot participate until you have been cleared and a Go Pass has been issued to you.

Girls Soccer tryouts and practice will be held at the Freshman Baseball field at 3:15PM. The field is located on the north end of campus next to 82nd St.

GIRLS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS HAVE STARTED. VARSITY PRACTICE BEGINS AT 4:30 P.M. IN AUXILIARY GYM. JUNIOR VARSITY/FRESHMAN BEGINS AT 6:00 P.M. IN AUXILIARY GYM. ALL GIRLS ARE WELCOMED TO TRYOUT FOR THIS YEARS TEAMS.
All girls who plan to try out for the teams must have a physical to try out. See Mr. Ruben in the main office for your paperwork. Then you have to turn the paperwork back to Mr. Ruben to try out for the 2009 Teams.

Powder Puff Football Run 11/04– 11/05

The Powder Puff showdown between the Junior and Senior classes ended in a 24 – 24 tie in front of a large crowd in the football stadium last night. It was a hard fought battle that ended with a score of 16 – 16 at the end of regulation. The Juniors scored in their overtime possession but the Seniors answered to even the score. Edith Diaz, Porshia Campbell, and Quinn Oberman were solid for the Juniors while Liz Rorke, Courtney Panozzo, and Kara Hess led the charge for the Seniors. For those who missed it, the Halftime show was very entertaining!
Big thanks to the players, coaches and all of those who were involved in putting the game together!
Homecoming Run 11/02 – 11/06

Homecoming tickets are on sale now, in the bookstore! $20 for singles and $30 for couples. Also don’t forget to fill out a guest contract if you are bringing a non-Saguaro student as your date. Guest contracts can be picked up in the bookstore and are due to an administrator by Wednesday, November 4th.

STAND UP FOR KIDS Run 11/04 – 11/10

Stand UP For Kids will be hosting an after school assembly for the Invisible Children Roadies on Monday, November 9th, at 3:15 in the Auditorium. Invisible Children is a foundation that raises awareness regarding child soldiers in Africa. We would really appreciate your attendance at the assembly so please make the effort to come and support the Stand Up For Kids Club as well as Invisible Children.
International Club Run 11/04 – 11/06

The International Club will be meeting Tomorrow in Ms Evans’ class Room 168, during lunch. The Saguaro Students who were on the Swiss Exchange Trip will be sharing photos and talking about their experiences while on the trip.
The International Club offers opportunities for students to study a year abroad through the Rotary Exchange Program. Students have the exciting chance to travel and learn in twelve different countries from Switzerland to Germany. Please visit the International Club on Thursdays at lunch in Ms. Evans’ room 168 for more information.
